Valentine’s day is one of my most-cherished holidays and for fabulous reason -- it’s just so darn honest & sweet. As a little girl the hours leading up to the red letter day were so exciting. The best part of the celebration? Heart shaped cookies, chocolates, school parties, roses, teddy bears, pretty ribbon, fancy cards and secret crushes, if you ask me. I’m not embarrassed to tell you, Tristan is my go-to when it comes to making things easy on your wallet and gorgeous at the same time. “In my family, we love to make every single thing pretty, important, and useful,” she blurted out as she opened her home to reveal her secrets to us - newborn baby Oliver in arm and her mom (who was laughing in agreement!) right beside them.
Surprise deliveries from mom, dad and boyfriends fill my elementary and high school memories. Then those years in my early twenties well, the whole day was pretty lonely because it never failed I was single throughout the celebration (this was year after year since I’m being honest!). About that time I decided to go ahead and embrace the fondness I have for my family, friends and even my dog. There’s nothing to get the fun going like coming up with creative ways to say, “hello there, thank you for being fabulous!”
We are from all walks of life - college age sorority woman, stay at home wife, retiree, beach combers and a beautiful single mom, we giggled in ways that play out like a fairytale. Over coffee and wine, together we came up with five fresh ways to arrange flowers for our true love, whether it’s romantic roses effortlessly grouped in a statement container, a mix of gathered blooms that can be left on a table, or a small jar to place on a night stand, they’re so easy that you can give them to everyone this Valentine’s Day, even yourself!
