Easter Bunny Petit Fours

Petit fours are a delightful little treat, typically servered at teas and brunch.  I thought these little bunny petit fours would make the perfect addition to my little Easter gathering, and they were a big hit!  I used the Easter Bunny Vanilla Cupcake recipe on the Pottery Barn Kids Blog and made a sheet cake with most of the batter and used the rest of it to make mini cupcakes for my Easter Party...more on that later :)  Lets get down to busniess on these super simple, delectable treats!

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet cake
  • Bunny cookie cutter
  • Powdered Sugar
  • Water
  • Food coloring
  • *optional* Almond extract

Step 1: Using the cookie cutter, cut your shapes in the cake and place on a cooling rack. *Place wax paper under cooking wrack for easy clean up.

Step 2: Make glaze in small batches: 2 cups powdered sugar, 4 tablespoons water, 1/2 teaspoon almond extract, 2-4 drops of food coloring 

Step 3:  Blend with a mixer until incorporated. Pour into a second bowl and add food coloring. Pour over and completely cover each bunny.

Step 4: Let the glaze harden (1 hour at minimum) and serve.
