I'm back with my next installment of the Summer Entertaining Series with La Crema Wines! Last we met I gave you some pointers for decorating an outdoor dinner table and making your guests feel special. That's always the goal of entertaining, right? Making your guests feel welcome and comfortable. Well, we don't want everyone to feel welcome and comfortable. In fact, uninvited guests can very easily take a dinner party from fab to drab in no time flat. I'm talking, of course, about insects!
Along with the floral arrangement supplies, you can get almost everything you need for this project at your local grocery store. This lovely luminary is an all-natural, beautiful and great-smelling alternative to citronella candles or bug sprays!
You will need:
- Glass cylinder vases (picked mine up at Dollar tree!)
- Floating candles- one per vase
- Essential oils- Choose from insect-repelling oils such as mint, lemon, lemongrass, eucalyptus and lavender. I used lemon and eucalyptus
You've probably already figured out the plan. Simply slice up the lemons and limes, break up the herbs, and put them in the vases with about 20-40 drops of essential oil, depending on how strong you want the scent to be. Top with a floating candle and voila! That's IT! I made six and lined them up down the center of my table. The result is beautiful and functional, can't beat that for such a quick project!
I can't wait to share the rest of my tips and tricks with you! And the recipes! Ohhhh the recipes!!!
